Dear Coaching Systems friends,
it is a pleasure to greet all of you at the beginning of spring that always brings to life a lot of new energy and inspires to action. We at Coaching Systems are also in the middle of a lot of activities by which we fulfil our mission to find and develop potential of individual, teams and entire organisations. I am very happy to announce in this newsletter launch of our new project Academy of Coaching Excellence (starting May 12th) which is an accredited certification in professional coaching, designed for managers, HR professionals and coaches who want to influence teams and individuals to unlock their potential. In this unique coach training programme we will provide you with a space to create your own coaching model according to EMCC (European Mentoring & Coaching Council) competencies. Please contact us for personal assessment till 28th of April – there are only three places left! Furthermore, we prepared together with company Williams & Partner a workshop on the topic „From successful manager to influential leader“, using the Myers Briggs Typology Indicator as a basis for leadership development. You can read the review of the event in this issue. We also participated on the tradeshow Evolution in Prague, which was a great experience for us, and we learnt a lot from interacting with many interesting people which visited us there. You can get a better feeling about this event by having a look at the photos we took during the fair. In current times, there is a very important topic of measurement of effectiveness which we describe in an article by Anita Crkalova. Claire Dickson, member of our management team, describes in her very interesting article usage of feedback and its place in development of individuals, teams and organisations.

FROM SUCCESSFUL MANAGER TO INFLUENTIAL LEADER
– seminar report

On 13 of April 2011, Williams &  Partner held a new seminar as part of the Leadership Series on the topic: "From successful leader to influential leader". The event took place in PWC Business Center and was focused on providing a better insight into people’s preferences, helping them to understand what are their core motivations and how they can influence others to achieve successful results. The seminar was based on Myers – Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment which is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. These preferences were extrapolated from the typological theories proposed by Carl Gustav Jung and later adapted to benefit people in their every day life.

I would be a wealthy woman if I had asked for a 100 czk every time a client had complained about a boss, peer or team member and when asked the question "have you told them," there was a shake of the head and the eyes hit the floor. Nearly everyone I meet in business agrees with the famous quote "feedback is the breakfast of champions" (Ken Blanchard). But the reality in organizations is often different.
