Newsletter 2012/01

PhDr. Norbert Riethof
Dear friends of Coaching Systems,
I send you heartfelt greetings leading up to Easter, which is traditionally a symbol of the eternal circle of life – death and rebirth. It is also an important time for "cleansing" the body and spirit and for "abandoning" old habits to create room for everything new. At Coaching Systems we are also using this time to improve our services by getting rid of the old and ineffective and bringing in new inspiration and stimuli from the world of education and development of human potential.
It is a great pleasure for me to announce that not even a year after the first cycle of our training programme for coaches was launched, the "Academy of Coaching Excellence – Practitioner" has been accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and has received a European Quality Award – the first in our market. It is a great honour for all of us here at Coaching Systems and at the same time it is a commitment to continue developing the culture of coaching and to professionalise coaching training and practice. Secure your place in the next training soon!
I am also pleased to report that, as of the new year, Tereza Damborská has been named to the position of Managing Director at Coaching Systems. I wish her much success and I trust that in addition to her managerial and operational tasks she will continue to devote herself to her work at the Academy of Coaching Excellence as a trainer/supervisor and to executive coaching.
What can you find in this issue of our newsletter?
In the first piece we deal in detail with the bestowing of EMCC accreditation and what it means for the participants of our training programmes. You can also browse the photographs from our ACE coach training course as well as the final certification and reflections from one of the participants. In the third piece we invite you to a unique course called "Leading from the CORE" with the world-renowned expert on personality types Linda Berens, which is to take place in May in Prague. This leads into a piece on my attendance at a conference of the British Association for Psychological Type (BAPT) where I held a workshop entitled Type and Leadership. And finally we wish to inform you about the conference  Psychology of Work and Organisation, which is to take place at the Prague School of Economics, with Coaching Systems as a key partner.
I wish you all Happy Easter – and a beatiful spring full of life and new energy!

We received EMCC accreditation as a first training company in the Czech Republic

In March 2012 our programme – the intensive ACADEMY OF COACHING EXCELLENCE coach training accredited by the Ministry of Education – also received accreditation from the international organisation EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council). We received this prestigious EQA (European Quality Award) accreditation for the level of Practitioner.

My personal experience with Academy of Coaching Excellence

Coaching has many technical definitions. It works with potential and capabilities. It focuses on performance and results. It helps one to find goals, become fully aware of reality and to discover often unexpected solutions and possibilities. Professional publications and courses teach you all this and more theoretical knowledge and starting points. You learn what coaching is and is not, what skills a coach should have, how to conduct an interview and what techniques to use. If you have a "good" teacher and you are a responsible student, you will acquire the valuable and requisite foundation of knowledge.

Workshop with the world renowned US trainer Linda Berens to take place 24–26 May 2012.

For the first time, not only in the Czech Republic but in all of Europe, we have the opportunity to present Linda Berens and her course "Leading from the CORE – Typology and Leadership". It builds on the MBTI methodology and works with the key leadership aspects according to the unique CORE method (Cognition Outlook Roots Expression).

Attendance at the BAPT (British Association for Psychological Type) conference

In March of this year it was my great pleasure to take active part in the BAPT Annual Conference in London. BAPT is an important British non-profit organisation founded in 1989 by admirers and followers of Carl Jung and enthusiastic promoters and users of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®(MBTI®).

The conference "Psychology of Work and Organisation in the Czech Republic" is taking place on 20 and 21 September 2012

Allow us to invite you to the conference Psychology of Work and Organisation in the Czech Republic, organised by the Faculty of Psychology at the Prague School of Economics, the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Palackého University in Olomouc and Charles University. Our organisation will be contributing as a partner of the conference, where we will present our services and products.
